Meet the Owners

David & Alison LaSpada

Two men outdoors near a sign for Henchen Marina and Fishing Camp, with trees and a few vehicles in the background, under a clear blue sky.

As a native of Sandy Creek, Alison’s roots to Henderson Harbor began as a child fishing with her parents Tom and Evie Blount on a classic Lymann named the Lumberman (Blount Lumber). Launching from Ditches dock, Alison got a taste of marina life from Ron and Ora Ditch and the boys by watching them filet fish, to then visit the Gillhouse to get the catch of the day cooked.

The love of Lake Ontario’s fishing, slow living, and small community aspired Tom and Evie to build a home overlooking its famed Golden Crescent stunning sunsets.

Henderson Harbor thus became a gathering place during summers for children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to enjoy. Nearly four generations later and counting, David and Alison LaSpada have acquired Henchen Marina with the intention of restoring the business to it’s former glory for many more generations to come.
